Team Suzuki Press Office – August 27.

Team Suzuki’s Marcus Schiffer clinched the German ADAC Motocross Championship at the penultimate round at Emmen in The Netherlands yesterday aboard his RM-Z450 as Jeremy Seewer fully-sealed the Younger Cup Championship aboard his RM-Z250.

Despite treacherous weather conditions at the sandy circuit, Team Silent Sport Suzuki’s Schiffer only needed a handful of points to win the eight-round championship, but instead of playing it safe, he attacked both races, winning one and claiming his second ADAC Masters title.

Said Schiffer: “I was determined to win the championship here in Emmen. To do it with a moto victory makes me very happy. There were some very fast Grand Prix riders in the field and to beat them doesn’t come easy and I definitely had to dig deep. The Masters title means a lot to me, I’m satisfied to be the best this season and we’ve all worked hard to make it happen. Thanks to the team members, to Suzuki and to my family and friends for their support as without them it wouldn’t have been possible.”

Mike Kras (Beuersfoon Rockstar Suzuki), Julien Lieber (Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe) and Nicolai Hansen (Team AC MoTeC – MG Sport by STC) completed the Suzuki success, all three finishing in the top 10.

Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe’s Seewer arrived with a hefty points lead, but crashed in the difficult conditions in race one, having to pit for fresh goggles, but fighting through to 10th position. In race two, he brought the team’s RM-Z250 home in fifth place to capture the title with 65-point margin.

Said Seewer: “It was a pity that I couldn’t take the title in the first race, but it could have been worse. There’s always the danger of something not going your way under these conditions, but it’s good I carried on after the crash and collected valuable points. The second moto went much smoother and we were able to celebrate afterwards. I’m not a renowned sand specialist so that race is special and to claim the title under such difficult circumstances is especially nice. The ADAC Youngster title is a great success as it is a highly-competitive and renowned series in Europe. A big thanks goes to my team and to all who provided support."
