Team Suzuki Press Office – September 16.

Bennetts Suzuki and Tommy Bridewell are aiming to be the Showdown ‘spoilers’ this weekend and will be aiming for more podium finishes at Donington Park and round 10 of the MCE British Superbike Championship.

Bridewell saw his own hopes of making it into the Showdown dashed last weekend at Oulton Park, after a crash in race one. Now racing without any pressure, Bridewell is hoping to upset the order in the final three rounds of the season, by putting his GSX-R1000 on the podium and taking points away from the Showdown contenders.

Tommy Bridewell:

“We can just go out there and enjoy racing our motorbike now. It would have been nice to have been in the Showdown, of course, but now the pressure's off we can relax a little bit more. Before the season's out my goal is to put the Bennetts Suzuki on the top-step of the podium. The team has worked so hard, we've got the speed, and we've come close, and by trying to do that in every race, hopefully we can spoil things for some of the others at the front.”

Martin Halsall - Team Owner:

“Our season doesn't stop because we're not in the Showdown. We've got three rounds now to race for more podiums and be the ones that have a say in where the championship ends up. We won't be standing aside and letting the Showdown contenders get on with it. Our aim is to win races. We've shown in the second half of this season that we have the pace to regularly fight for the podium, and while we've had some bad luck that's cost us results, we know where we can be, and we'll be, trying as hard in the last three rounds as we have all year to finish on the podium in every race.”
