SUZUKI RIDERS UNVEIL NEW MODELS AND MEET FANS AT EICMA
Team Suzuki Press Office – November 23.
Every November hundreds of thousands of passionate motorsport fans converge in Milan at the Rho-Fiera for one of Italy’s most famous events; EICMA (or Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo Motociclo e Accessori to give it its full name!).
The six-day long happening features new model launches, autograph sessions, Q&As, and plenty of accessories and merchandise.
Team Suzuki Ecstar were present on Tuesday November 23rd with their riders Joan Mir, Alex Rins, and Sylvain Guintoli at trade stand number B10 in Hall 22. As well as chatting with Suzuki Italy Commercial Director Enrico Bessolo and enjoying video highlights of the season, the riders answered fans’ questions and enjoyed the unveiling of some beautiful new additions to the Suzuki line. One of the most exciting moments was the launch of the new Katana m.y. 2022, which fans were eager to catch the first glimpse of. Sylvain Guintoli was also pleased to show off the GSX-S 950 with a SERT (Suzuki Racing Endurance Team) livery after he won the Endurance World Championship crown with its GSX-R counterpart in 2021. And similarly, Mir and Rins were able to reveal a stunning and photo worthy MotoGP livery on the GSX-S 1000. With all this, and plenty more happening at the Suzuki stand, the 78th edition of EICMA was not to be missed!
Joan Mir:
“EICMA is always a fantastic event to come to, I feel like a fan again when I come here, not just a rider! Seeing all the brand new bikes and meeting passionate supporters are real perks of the event, and I love looking around and checking everything out. On our Suzuki stand we had plenty to show everyone and we met lots of journalists and fans.”
Alex Rins:
“When you get to the end of the racing season there’s always one more thing to be done; a visit to Milan for the EICMA show! We see lots of other riders and friends here, and everything is always looking awesome and fresh. I was excited to show everyone the new models and liveries that we had at the Suzuki stand, and we had a lot of fun chatting all together and answering some good questions.”
Sylvain Guintoli:
“I had a great time at EICMA with Joan, Alex, and all the Suzuki guys and girls. I loved revealing the GSX-S with the SERT livery, it was a really proud moment for me and it brought back some of the good feelings I got when we won the title. All the bikes look really stunning, so it’s hard to pick a favourite, but that’s definitely a highlight for me!”
Enrico Bessolo – Suzuki Italy Commerical Director:
“It was such a pleasure to welcome Joan, Alex, and Sylvain to EICMA this year. After a difficult couple of years with the pandemic it’s been nice to enjoy an event all together. It’s a special thing to welcome such top level riders, especially with Sylvain having won a world title this year and Joan winning it last year. We shared some laughs with them and showcased our beautiful new Suzuki range, including the Katana m.y. 2022, which is an impressive looking machine.”
